Today's Gossip: United To Trigger Griezmann's Clause; Arsenal Table Big Offer For Star Man

Manchester united have “cleared a significant hurdle” in their pursuit of antoine griezmann, while arsenal have made alexis sanchez a huge contract offer, all in today’s papers.

Man United To Trigger Griezmann Buyout Clause
Manchester United are stepping up their transfer plans after securing Champions League football next season, and the first move could be to meet Antoine Griezmann's €100 million release clause at Atletico Madrid, according to the Mirror.
If United bring in Griezmann, his arrival could signal the end of Wayne Rooney's time at Old Trafford, according to the same publication. The report claims he will leave for the Chinese Super League when their transfer window opens on June 19.

The Telegraph adds that Everton have asked to be kept abreast of developments regarding Rooney's future as they consider bringing him back to Goodison Park. However, a move to Everton would reportedly involve a substantial pay cut.

Arsenal Up Their Offer To Keep Alexis
Arsenal are making a play to keep Alexis Sanchez at the club amid interest from Bayern Munich, and the Mail reports that the North London club have offered the Chile international £270,000 a week if he signs a new contract.
However, the report suggests this amount is short of Sanchez's £300,000-a-week demands, and with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain also on the scene, it would appear he is in a position of strength when it comes to negotiations.

Further talks are planned after the FA Cup final on Saturday when Arsenal take on Chelsea, another team to be linked with Sanchez.

Verratti Couldn't Refuse Barca Offer
Mundo Deportivo writes that although Marco Verratti is happy at Paris Saint-Germain and is willing to stay in France, the offer to join Barcelona this summer would prove too much for him to resist.
A lot depends on what happens next at Barca -- a new manager has to be appointed, and there are also reports of interest in Liverpool's Philippe Coutinho -- but Verratti will go on holiday to Ibiza next week and await news of whether a bid will be forthcoming.

The Italy international midfielder, who is also wanted by Bayern Munich and Chelsea, reportedly told teammates over dinner recently that while he is content in Paris, the opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta would be an offer he couldn't let pass.

Morata Ready To Be The Main Man In Milan
Alvaro Morata looks set to leave Real Madrid just one season after returning to the club, with a €7.5m-a-year deal agreed to with AC Milan, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italian outlet writes that Milan are ready to spend €60m to secure the striker's signature and make him their star man as they aim to challenge at the top of Serie A next season.

Morata, 24, has found his options limited at Real this season, starting just 14 games in La Liga and only one in the Champions League.
