Olanrewaju Emerges Bundesliga Top Scorer, First African To Do So Since Leroy Sane's Dad

Austria Wien forward Olarenwaju Kayode has finished as the Austrian Bundesliga top scorer for the 2016-17 season.

The Nigerian international bagged 17 goals in 33 league games for Austria Wien, who finished second on the log behind Red Bull Salzburg.

Kayode could have added to his tally in the last game of the season but was suspended for the game against Admira on Sunday, a game where the Violets triumphed 6-1.

He becomes the first African to finish as top scorer of the league since Senegal's Souleyman Sane- father of Man City forward Leroy Sane- would do so in the 1994/1995 campaign with 20 goals.

All round, it was a good season for the 24-year-old forward with a nice return of 24 goals in all competitions this season.

The striker is currently in camp with the National team as the Super Eagles prepare for the upcoming friendly against Togo on June 1.
