Everton Ready To Table Bid For Nigerian Forward As Club Searches For Lukaku Replacement
Merseyside giants Everton are preparing a bid for Man City's forward Kelechi Iheanacho as the club looks to prepare for a life without Romelu Lukaku
The Nigerian international who has found game time limited this season at the Etihad is reportedly looking for a move as the player has fallen behind in pecking order with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus preferred options.
Iheanacho has made just 19 league appearances this season scoring just four goals.
But with rumors of Lukaku looking to depart Everton in the summer, the club is lining a up £20million bid for the player as the club have marked Iheanacho as a possible replacement.
According to The Sun, an Etihad source said: “Everton have shown an interest in Kelechi, who has been frustrated with a lack of game-time this season.
“He is highly-rated here, but has not started a match since January 2nd where as I’m sure he would get lots of first-team action elsewhere.
“Pep is looking to bolster his ranks and spend a fair chunk of cash this coming transfer window and the club could be persuaded to sell should the right offer come in.”
Since joining City in 2014, Iheanacho has scored 21 times in 63 appearances since breaking into the first-team at the start of the 2015-16 campaign.
