Today's Gossip: United's Main Target Emerges; Van Dijk Favours Anfield Move

Manchester United have three candidates in mind to replace David de Gea, while Leonardo Bonucci could be heading to the Premier League in a £48m deal, according to Tuesday’s newspapers.

Manchester United Draw Up Three-Man Keeper Wishlist
Manchester United keeper David de Gea will be replaced by either Joe Hart, Samir Handanovic or Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports on Tuesday.

With speculation mounting that the back-to-back European champions are plotting a world-record goalkeeper bid for De Gea, United boss Jose Mourinho has been drawing up a list of names to replace the Spaniard.
And the Daily Mail claims Hart, who is set to be shown the door by neighbouring Manchester City, is top of their wishlist.

Hart is poised to return to the Premier League after a season-long loan in Serie A in Italy and Mourinho believes the England No 1 could effortlessly fill the void.

It was previously felt City would not allow Hart to join a direct rival, especially their cross-city neighbours, but it’s felt their stance has softened and a deal could be struck should United be reluctantly forced to cash in on De Gea.

The England stopper is joined by AC Milan starlet Donnarumma and Inter’s Handanovic – but it’s felt a deal for Hart would be the easiest to complete.

Gunners Confirm Kolasinac
Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Sead Kolasinac on a Bosman free transfer, their first capture of the summer.
The Gunners have announced he will sign a long-term contract and "subject to the completion of all regulatory processes, the defender will start pre-season training in July".

Chelsea Turn Attentions Back To Bonucci
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte still fancies his chances of landing £48m Juventus star Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports on Tuesday.
The Sun claims the Italian remains very much on Chelsea’s shopping list this summer, with Conte ready to turn his attention back to the Italian stalwart amid reports they are to miss out on Southampton’s Virgil van Dijk.

And there are further claims that a deal with Chelsea could be struck after the Daily Express claimed Juventus have lined up Lazio defender Stefan de Vrij as a replacement for Bonucci.

It’s claimed Chelsea are willing to offer the centre-back a four year deal worth £115,000-a-week as they seek a replacement for John Terry, who left Stamford Bridge this summer.

Now 30 years old, Bonucci knows this is likely to be his last big contract and a move to the Premier League is said to be of interest to the 69-times capped Italy defender.

Morata Emerges As United's Main Target
Manchester United have been linked with Andrea Belotti, Alvaro Morata and Romelu Lukaku in recent weeks -- and the Telegraph reports that there is now a favourite.
It says Real Madrid striker Morata "is United's top target as they aim to make the key signing to succeed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their main centre-forward."

With Ibrahimovic sidelined for some time after knee surgery, Jose Mourinho wants to augment his attack and Morata "is regarded as a more viable option than Torino's Belotti or Everton's Lukaku."

Madrid are thought likely to want around £50 million for him -- half the £100m Everton will demand for Lukaku -- while Belotti is valued at close to £90m.

Another reason for United switching their striker focus could be Bayern Munich's reported entry into the chase for Lukaku.

The Manchester Evening News, citing sources close to the player, says the Bundesliga champions are firmly in contention, with his father thought to favour a move to Germany.

The MEN also reports that United could yet sign Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, who "has not agreed anything concrete with Chelsea" and is interested in a switch to Old Trafford following qualification for the Champions League.

Wenger Holding Out Hope Over Mbappe
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger "has not completely given up on a potential world record deal for Monaco star Kylian Mbappe," according to the Telegraph.
It reports that Wenger aims to make two major signings "and while beating Real Madrid to Mbappe is unlikely, Arsenal hope to persuade the France striker that his immediate development would be best served by first moving to the Premier League."

Here's the sort of competition they face -- the Independent says Madrid "are set to offer €135m."

And it adds that Monaco "are in no rush to sell, having already brought in some €50m from the sale of Bernardo Silva to Manchester City" and with Benjamin Mendy expected to follow him to City for another big fee.

Meanwhile, the future of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could soon become clearer, with the Telegraph saying that although Liverpool are interested "contract talks with Arsenal have progressed positively and there is optimism that agreement can be reached."

Van Dijk Sets His Sights On Anfield
Sources have told ESPN FC that Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk has informed Liverpool they are his preferred destination this summer.
Jurgen Klopp's side appear to have won the race to sign the in-demand centre-half, who was at also near the top of Chelsea and Manchester City's wishlists.
Speculation over where Chelsea striker Diego Costa might ply his trade next season continues to swirl.

Although Costa has said he would only consider leaving if he could return to Atletico Madrid, the upholding of Atleti's transfer ban rules that option out for now.

And the London Evening Standard reports that AC Milan are ready to tempt him to quit Stamford Bridge after Morata opted against a return to Serie A.
