PHOTOS: Sculptor Who Made Bizarre Ronaldo Sculpture Make Amends With That Of Bale

Remember the Cristiano Ronaldo statue?

Of course you do. Back in March, Madeira Airport was renamed the Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport - but the Real Madrid star's thunder was somewhat stolen by a bronzed version of himself.

A Ronaldo bust was unveiled outside the airport… only for it to bear very little resemblance to Ronaldo.

Well, if you thought you had seen the back of that saga, you'd be wrong. Thanks to Paddy Power, Emanuel Santos - the artist behind the Ronaldo bust - has had another go at immortalising a Real Madrid star.

Only this time, he's had a crack at Gareth Bale, creating a special one-off bust of the Welshman ahead of the Champions League final in Cardiff.

And, in fairness, he's come up with a pretty good likeness… this time.
