NFF Intensify Efforts As Race To Secure Tammy Abraham's Loyalty Heats Up

The Nigerian Football Federation is leaving no stone unturned as the football authority intensifies its efforts to secure the commitment of Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham.

Abraham, whose parents are both Nigerian, has represented the junior teams of the English national team, scoring twice in six appearances for the U-21s this campaign.

The player has been on fine form this season scoring 26 goals on loan at Bristol City and it is the much talked about potential of the boy that has seen the NFF try to get the player featuring for the Super Eagles.

According to the Super Eagles' spokesman Ademola Olajire, the 19-year-old striker is a target for the Super Eagles.

"The coach (Salisu Yusuf) does not want to take any chances, so he has a list of players he would be relying on to play the matches.

"The Nigerian football federation has secured a Nigerian passport for Ola Aina. We are working on that of Tammy Abraham and others.

“We want the best players in the national team, so we are not taking any chances at all.”

The NFF had already bagged one of its targets when Ola Aina, a fellow Chelsea graduate, would commit to join the Super Eagles despite featuring for the Young Lions.

It is being reported that Abraham is not interested in the proposed talks having already rejected previous advances but the NFF is willing to remain resilient till he features in a competitive game for England.
