Moses' Red Card Was Disgraceful! 6 Things We Learnt From Arsenal's #FACupFinal Triumph
Arsenal are the FA Cup champions! The Gunners toppled Premier League champions Chelsea, 2-1, scoring early and then answering the Blues' goal with the match-winner a minute later with Aaron Ramsey the hero.
Now the Gunners have a trophy to show for their season and are FA Cup winners for the third time in four years.
What did we take away from the match?
1 Chelsea barely showed up
After a long season of chasing a Premier League title, I can imagine it's hard to win it, party, relax for a couple weeks and then turn it back on for a cup final. That's what Chelsea had to do for this match and, well, it didn't go so well.
Chelsea were overrun from the start, lacking any of the sharpness and enthusiasm that made them Premier League champions. Even N'Golo Kante looked a step behind, which was previously thought impossible.
2 Alexis Sanchez's goal should not have counted
Was Arsenal's opening goal a handball or offside? The correct answer is both.
Alexis put his hands up, admittedly to block his face it appeared, and that was how he knocked the ball down, then Aaron Ramsey ran at the ball from an offside position.
Either of those could have, and should have, been called to rule the Arsenal goal out. The referee instead gave neither.

But before you give Anthony Taylor too much grief for missing both calls, consider how vague both the handball and passive offside rule can be. Yes, he got it wrong and deserves fault, but once again we're debating rules that should have been clarified by FIFA and the IFAB years ago.
3 The Arsenal defense held up
No Laurent Koscielny. No Gabriel Paulista. No Shkodran Mustafi. No problem?
Arsenal's defense was supposed to get shredded without their top three centerbacks, but Per Mertesacker and Rob Holding held things down just fine.
There were a couple dangerous moments, but Mertesacker had a pair of fine late tackles, Holding generally kept Diego Costa in check minus the one goal and the Gunners largely got the job done in defense. It was stunning, but the trophy doesn't lie.

4 Victor Moses deserved his red card
Moses put Chelsea in a major hole when he was sent off in the second half, but he can't have much of a complaint.
His first yellow card was deserved and the second came on a blatant dive that Anthony Taylor correctly showed him a second yellow card for. It's horribly embarrassing to get sent off for a dive, but Moses' dive was embarrassing to begin with so it fits.

Chelsea may have equalized even with 10 men, but there's no doubt that playing shorthanded hampered the Blues down the stretch and may as well have clinched their loss.
5 Aaron Ramsey at the right time
Ramsey can be infuriating. He gives the ball away in bad spots, seems to lack discipline at times and can get stuck spinning in circles.
But he's also incredibly good at getting forward at the right times to finish attacks. That's what he did in bagging Arsenal's winner to be the FA Cup hero.

6 What does this mean for Arsene Wenger?
As is the case with everything Arsenal has done this season, we are left to wonder what impact this will have on Wenger's future.
The Frenchman's Arsenal future will be decided at a board meeting this week and while the Gunners are not going to be in the Champions League this season, now Wenger can say he won a trophy and he did it by beating a London rival.

Is that enough to keep him in charge? At this point, nobody has any clue.
